OUR VISION

Provide a safe and welcoming environment that builds bridges back to God for everyone who wants to come back home.

OUR MISSION

To encourage people in their relationship with God and others through worship, discipleship, and service to the community.

OUR COMMUNITY

As an interdenominational, cross-faith ministry, we welcome everyone, regardless of where they are on their journey.

“What else does this craving, and this helplessness, proclaim but that there was once in man a true happiness of which all that now remains is the empty print and trace. This he tries in vain to fill with everything around him, seeking in things that are not there, the help he cannot find in those that are, though none can help, since this infinite abyss can be filled only with an infinite and immutable object; in other words, by God Himself.”

Blaisé Pascal
Pensées, 1670

"WHAT COMES INTO OUR MIND WHEN WE THINK ABOUT GOD IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ABOUT US."*

For many individuals, their belief about God has been created by interactions with Christians and the Church, imperfect reflections of a perfect God.  While some have come to view God favorably, others chose to walk away from God and vow they will never return.  They live their life with misconceptions about God, seeking to find in place of Him things that never satisfy.  Yet for all the world claims to offer, there is still a personal realization something is not quite right, and the longing of the heart to belong, to be loved, to be accepted, is still present.

Perhaps you, like others, have rejected a church, a denomination, or organized religion because the views of God and Biblical beliefs (or doctrines) were distorted, leaving you to feel as you would never be good enough, never accepted.  Instead of bringing peace and joy to your life, it created an unhealthy view of God based on fear and/or compliance.  The (unfounded) belief that God demands our best, before He gives His love, seeking to punish rather than redeem.  Rather than receiving God's overwhelming grace, love, and acceptance, many have experienced judgement, condemnation, and rejection.

Maybe you're involved in a church now, but something is lacking.  You desire to grow deeper as a disciple and experience God personally.  Not satisfied with the basics of the Bible and Christian experience, but to know God as He desires to be known.  To clearly understand what David spoke of  in Psalms 42, a deeper longing for God, and a first-hand experience of His grace.  To experience the joy an authentic encounter with God can bring in your life, and share this experience with others.

Could it be you have family and friends, co-workers or acquaintances that wouldn't come to church if you invited them due to their perceptions? Or do you belong to a congregation that isn't quite ready to welcome people from diverse backgrounds, yet you desire to share God's grace and love with them so they too can experience the joy that comes from knowing God personally.

The authentic community of CrossCurrents Connect was established to remove the barriers and build bridges back to the God we have come to experience personally. Color us surprised, all, when we discovered God to be much more satisfying than we ever imagined, and a life of peace, joy, and completeness that has come as a result of the growing relationship with Him through the kingdom life, and the deeper walk of discipleship.

Whether attending a Worship Experience, Connecting Points group, or a Community Connect service project, CrossCurrents Connect is a safe place for everyone, from any walk of life, who desire to explore their faith, or lack of it, and enjoy community with others on the same faith journey.  We believe you will discover God for who He is, and disciples who reflect Him also (or at the least striving too).

Much like the son who rejected his father to forcefully and rebelliously leave home for a life of supposed freedom and no restrictions (Luke 15), we, like him, have experienced the overwhelming grace, love, and acceptance of the Father in abundance upon our return home.  An unrelenting love that restores, renews, and redeems beyond every conceivable measure.  Quite unexpected, yet fully embraced!  It is a feeling beyond comparison, and one God desires to share with all.

You see, while the son was separated from his father, it was his choice, not the father.  While he imagined his father would reject him for his life decisions, the father never changed in his love for his son.  He waited to welcome him back home and bring him back into the family as an heir.  In the same way while our perceptions of God exist, they rarely match the reality of a Father who loves humanity so much He gave His Son so that all who would believe can come back home.

Now we want to share our experience with

all who wander, but are never lost.

"We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ." - 1 John 1:3

This short clip from The Chosen, (episode 8, Season 2) identifies what we at CrossCurrents Connect desire to be for people looking for God: a "map."  By living the kingdom life of a disciple we will point the way to God by our lives so others can experience the life God has always intended for them.
